Data-Driven Value Creation in Research

Data-Driven Value Creation in Research

Shared data is transforming how value is created in society. It underpins regulatory frameworks like the Digital Product Passport, drives AI development in technology towards impact, and shapes how products, services and policies are designed.

Research is part of this transformation. If research outputs are realistically to be used in the society, they have to align with a digital transition. The research already is data active. Results must be documented and shared as evidence of what has been achieved. Open access publications make findings available to other researchers and to AI concepts that advance knowledge. Researchers who understand how shared data creates value and how to position their work will have competitive advantages. Motivations for realistic impact and credible exploitation pathways are stronger and credible. This training builds that understanding.

Each researcher and their research topic make a unique combination. Training is therefore individual, not in group. It includes:
– Introduction to the digital transition in the European context
– Motivation for why including the digital transition is necessary for a a research topic
– Shared data as part of realistic exploitation pathways — from outputs to outcomes
– Choice of data sources to support value chain optimisation
– Trusted source data for key performance indicators which evidence sustainability
– Data-driven value creation: building toward digital and sustainability assets
– New business models for funding and investment to align technology readiness with societal readiness.
– Example from the GlobalSiC pilot project with real-world implementation

You can start anytime. The individual track runs over three months with biweekly meetings (90 minutes each). You will build a roadmap for your own research case. You will have mentoring for your individual case building for research as well as career perspective. Participants complete the training with an advanced assignment (finalised roadmap for research and career).

Participants receive a certificate of the course and assignment after completion: “Digital Transition for Research: Roadmap for Research and Career — ICM Research Institute, Alminica AB, Sweden.”

Fee: 750 EUR
