Each year the European Commission funds the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship. This is one of the most competitive individual research grants in Europe. Researchers apply together with a host institution, presenting a detailed research and career development plan.

Seal of Excellence is awarded to proposals that passed the quality threshold but were not funded due to budget limitations. The evaluation is done by independent European experts. The researchers behind these proposals are capable, motivated, and currently without a position for their planned research.
